Description
Second City Salvage is offering today this amazing pair of early cast bronze electric sconces that were salvaged from a 1903 Minneapolis residence undergoing modern renovation. They were manufactured by E.F. Caldwell* and are duly marked on the backs of each one. The gas jets are not operational and have not been converted to electricity and one of the bisque jets is missing. The shades are cut crystal and are probably original to the lights and are most likely Baccarat as are most crystal shades on Caldwell lights. The shades are not marked. They are in excellent condition; however, one has a chip near the fitter edge as shown in the last photo. This is not notable and will be hidden once the shade is placed on the light, but I must mention. No other visible chips and no cracks. Overall measurement is 6″w x 13″h and they will project 10″ from the wall once installed. Height without shades is 11 1/2″. The shades themselves are 4 1/2″w x 4 1/2″h and have 2 1/4″ fitters. The wall plates are a generous 6″w x 7″h. These sconces will come to you with updated wiring, will be tested and ready to install. Add some sparkle to your space! These classical revival sconces will be the touch that you’ve been waiting for.
