Second City Salvage is excited to offer this set of three pendants with prismatic amber Holophane glass shades from the early 20th century, probably c1905. These shades are more rare than common and in 20 years in this business, I have only seen one in amber. I refer to it as either a Dental Lamp or Stalagmite shade, but my personal favorite term from a friend of mine was bee’s butt which I can clearly see! These have been restored and will come with updated period correct cloth wiring. Patina on the brass is original and these have only been lightly cleaned. They measure 4 3/4″w and will drop 35″ from the ceiling once installed (can be adjusted) with the current chain which measures 20″ long. The canopy is 5″ diameter and the brass fitter is 3 ¼”. The profile on two of the canopies match exactly, but one differs slightly. This won’t be an issue once these are installed and won’t be noticeable it’s so slight. Shades themselves measure 4 3/4″w x 5″h. There is one very tiny flea bite chip to the exterior of one shade that I have noted in the last photo that one cannot even see unless scrutinized up close, but I have to mention. The other two are perfect. All three are clearly stamped “HOLOPHANE 3358” on the tip of the shade. These accept a standard base bulb and will come with the modern cross bar needed for install. Recommend using an LED bulb for these as the shade does need to be removed for a bulb change and those last forever! My vision for these is over a kitchen island! They really do need to stay together, but message me for a price for one or a pair.
