Description
Second City Salvage is honored to offer this amazing Art Deco antique 2-light chandelier by Beardslee Williamson from the late 1920s/early 1930s. It has been completely restored and has the original shades which are in mint condition. There are spots on this light where the original poly chrome paint/finish has flaked away as shown in the photos, but that only adds to its character and does not detract from its beauty – it’s nearly perfect. The slip shades are what makes it and they are flawless with no chips, cracks or other condition issues and sit correctly in their holders. The last photo shows this light shown in the 1932 Beardslee catalog (top right) from their Shade-Lyte Collection. This light also has the original final and “convenience outlet” on the bottom which states that it was a $3.00 add on back in 1932. This outlet, nor the finial switch are not connected, but remain with the light. It measures 13 1/2”w x 7”w and will drop 34” from the ceiling once installed. The canopy is 6” dia x 4”h and the chain is 15” long (each link is 1 1/2”) and the light could be shortened to a 21” drop (minimum). It will come to you with updated period correct gold cloth wiring and a modern cross bar needed for installation. A fabulous piece that deserves to be a focal point in any room that it is installed in!
