Description
Second City Salvage is happy to offer this old nickel plated wall-mount brass cup/tumbler or shaving brush holder that dates to 1911. It was manufactured by San-O-La which was a trade name for Art Brass Co. and is stamped on the arm of the piece along with a patent date of 4-11-11 on the other side of the arm. There is also a small hook on the arm that would have accommodated a razor strop which makes me think this piece could have originally been a shaving brush holder. Patina is original and the nickel plating is in great shape with no real loss of finish. There are just a couple of spots that are not really notable and show up in the photos, but I have to mention. It has only been lightly cleaned. The piece measures 3″w x 4 5/8″h and will project 4″ from the wall once installed. The cup holder itself is 2 1/2″ dia x 2″depth.
