Description
Lovely stained glass window depicting a tall ship from the early 20th century salvaged from a Duluth, MN mansion in 2022. It was in very poor condition when it was removed so this piece has been totally restored. 99% of the glass is original, but there were a couple of replacement pieces needed and the zinc border of the window is new. It measures 29″w x 35″h. I originally thought this piece was attributed to Witte Bros. of Minneapolis as they did seascapes and landscapes, but I’m told that the lead caming on the window looks to be Heaps, Arnold & Heaps from the UK in that it is 10mm rounded face with heart ridges which is indicative of HA&H. That makes sense to me in that Duluth was/is a shipping port so it would have been fairly easy to have a piece like this imported from England back in the day. It’s the perfect size to go into a wider entry door or would also be great as a landing window. Land ho!
