Description
This mid-century 5-light chandelier was salvaged from a derelict building in Chicago facing demolition and we were so happy to save it from an untimely death. It is made of solid brass and has been completely restored head to toe. it was stripped of all lacquer and put on a wheel to polish and get rid of any pitting that occurred over the years. It has not been lacquered so will tarnish back unless the new owner decides to relacquer the piece to keep its sheen. The shades are a thick white glass, are all original and undamaged. There are a few tight fractures on the shade holders that do not, in any way, affect the integrity of the piece and are not notable, but I have to mention. These were very difficult to capture in pictures, but I did my best. The wiring has been updated and it is ready to install. It takes five standard base bulbs (not included). We believe that it was manufactured by Lightolier although I have had some opinions that say it is Italian. We have no provenance on that end and no catalog page that shows it. It measures 19″w and will drop 34″ from the ceiling once installed. A fabulous piece that will certainly be a focal point in your mid-century space. UPDATE 12/05/2023 There is a second one of these available for sale. I will offer both at a discounted price if they are both purchased by the same buyer. Message me if you would like to see photos.
