Second City Salvage is excited to offer this rare pendant with a prismatic Holophane type glass shade from the early 20th century, probably c1900. This shade is more rare than common. I refer to it as either a Dental Lamp or Stalagmite shade, but my personal favorite term from a friend of mine was bee’s butt which I can clearly see! The canopy, post, socket and fitter are brass with a lovely japanned or flashed copper finish in exceptional condition. The light has been restored and will come with updated period correct cloth wiring. It measures 4″w and will drop 19 1/2″ from the ceiling once installed. The canopy is 4 1/2″ diameter x 3″h and the fitter is 3 ¼” and stamped with a patent date of 1896. The shade itself 4″ dia. x 4 1/2″h. There are some small chips to exterior of the shade that I did my best to capture in the last two photos. These are insignificant and not noticeable unless scrutinized up close and are pretty much consistent with the age of this piece. The light accepts a standard base bulb and will come with the modern cross bar needed for install. I recommend using an LED bulb for this as the shade does need to be removed for a bulb change and those last forever! This little guy is small but mighty and will throw out a ton of light!
