Second City Salvage is offering for sale this cast iron register cover/grate with a japanned or flashed copper finish which is original. It has only been very lightly cleaned. This piece was salvaged from a 1900 farmhouse in Wisconsin. Outside dimension is 9 1/4″w x 5 1/4″w and will fit an opening that is 8″x4″. It is fully operational and the vents work smoothly. Replace that ugly modern register grate with this period correct piece. Your house will thank you for it.
