Second City Salvage is happy to offer this nickel plated brass claw foot tub over-the-rim sponge and soap holder from the early 20th century that is in its original state. It was fabricated by Art Brass Co. out of NY and is marked on the underside. It is a sturdy piece and overall, measures a generous 6 1/4″w x 5″h x 8″ projection. The projection from the rim of the tub is 7″, the soap dish is 5″w x 3 1/2 “w x 7/8″h and the sponge holder is 6 1/4” dia. There is some loss of the nickel finish where the brass is showing through on the soap dish and I did my best to capture that in the photos. Otherwise, the nickel is in good shape (the plating on the sponge holder gleams!) with some very minor pitting that is consistent with age. I call that character and something I could absolutely live with. It shined up beautifully. A rare piece indeed that will be a grand addition to your Victorian bathroom.
