Description
This Art Nouveau Mackintosh Rose transom window was salvaged from a Chicago Greystone facing the wrecking ball and was originally installed over a large picture window. It was original to the c1905 building and was designed by the Scottish architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh. It’s a rare piece in excellent condition. All of the glass is original, but it has been restored in that some major cracks were covered with lead overlays, severe bowing corrected and broken joints repaired. We left a few minor hairline cracks that were inconsequential that are not notable, but I need to mention. I will add more photos of those later. It measures a monumental 6 ft. long x 2 ft. high. It is not in a frame presently and will be secured to a plywood board for safe shipping. If you require a frame to be built, add $600 to the purchase price and 6 weeks to the shipping time.
