Description
This window was salvaged from a c1920 bungalow on Chicago’s north side. All glass is original and in exceptional condition. The gold flash glass accents are of special note, but some of them have incurred mottling due to age and exposure to the elements. Other pieces such as the textured amber border, clear and green and creamy gold/white slag pieces are undamaged with no cracks and the lead veins hold strong. The simplistic geometric pattern of this window makes a bold statement. The frame was a different story… Covered in many many years of lead-based paint, I sanded the frame down and then repainted it a rich graphite color and then waxed it to a satiny sheen. The end result is beautiful as you can clearly see! Overall in the frame measurement is 24″w x 31″h x 1 ¾” thick (add 2 ½” for the “feet”). Glass only measurement is 19 ¾”w x 27 ½”h.
