WHO WE ARE
The vision for Second City Salvage was established in 1999 in the Chicago area, initially focusing on demolition auctions. The founder, Liz Covey, had an enthusiasm for rescuing and restoring vintage pieces from old houses that led to the business’s growth. Fast forward to the spring of 2022, when the company moved to St. Paul, MN, and now sources unique items from the greater Midwest, Chicago, and Canada. What started as a hobby has become a full-time venture, with Liz’s husband, Jim, a guy with a strong engineering background, that contributes his expertise to the business on the more technical end.
And ready to install
At Second City Salvage, lighting fixtures are cleaned and carefully restored and rewired, tested and ready for installation upon arrival unless otherwise noted. Stained glass pieces are often fully restored, but minor cracks may be left alone if matching glass is unavailable. Antique bathroom accessories are cleaned and sometimes need replating, but sometimes are left alone as well to fit a room where the aesthetic is more raw. Prices reflect these restoration efforts and reasonable offers are welcome to fit various budgets. All sales are final.
